Thoughtful, design led architecture across residential, commercial and community projects.
May One Architecture (MOA) is a small, design-focused practice working across residential, commercial, museum and community sectors. MOA is an RIBA Chartered Practice, offering a full architectural service from inception to completion. We work throughout the UK and selectively in Europe and the Middle East, drawing on strong relationships with specialist designers, engineers and contractors.
We believe in:
• clear, calm design
• collaboration with clients, communities and consultants
• practical, buildable solutions
• attention to detail from the first sketch to final completion
MOA is led by Philip Harvey. Philip is an architect with over 25 years of experience, working across residential, commercial, cultural and community projects. His career began in several large commercial architectural practices, where he contributed to complex, multi‑stakeholder developments and gained a strong grounding in technical design, project delivery and client coordination.
Alongside his architectural work, Philip has been seconded into estates departments to provide project management support on capital programmes. These roles have strengthened his understanding of the client’s perspective, operational needs and the practicalities of delivering projects within live organisational settings.
Philip has also contributed to community-led initiatives, including serving as a member of the Leeds Recovery House Steering Group, helping guide the development of mental health and social support facilities. He holds BA (Hons) and BArch degrees in architecture, is a Registered Architect with the Architects Registration Board, and is a Chartered Architect (RIBA).

Harrogate Office Refurbishment
MOA has been appointed as technical adviser supporting the client on a project to alter and extend an existing period property to provide new serviced offices. In addition to the technical review and monitoring, MOA has been working with the client to develop the final interior design and Employer’s Requirements, liaising with the design and construction team on detail design and costs. Similarly, MOA is assisting in finalising external works requirements and FFE layouts ahead of letting.
The Peace Museum
MOA has recently completed a project to create a new exhibition, retail and staff spaces within a disused wing of Salts Mill, Bradford, facilitating the relocation of the Peace Museum from former premises in Bradford city centre. Salts Mill is part of the Saltaire UNESCO World Heritage Site and the Saltaire Conservation Area as well as being Listed itself. The project provides new accommodation for the museum’s exhibitions, visitor facilities - including reception and coat store - academic research facilities, staff offices and general storage. Since opening in late summer 2024, the museum has already enjoyed a dramatic increase in visitor numbers and income generation, benefiting from the high-profile location and much improved accessibility. MOA provided a full service from inception to completion of work on site.
The JCB Academy Dove Engineering Apprenticeship Centre
Alterations and extension to an existing former primary school in Rocester, near Derby, to create a new apprentice centre for the Academy. The substantial extension required careful consideration and a sensitive design response given the location within an area of significant heritage importance. The project is one of a number undertaken for the Academy.
